Fonica are Keiichi Sugimoto and Cheason. keiichi is also a member of minamo (an electro-acoustic group) and runs the cubic music label. Minamo will release their following album from the US labels like Quakebasket and Apestaartje.Cheason is a designer and does all the artwork for the Plop label.they are both members of the group RdL (pronounced as riddle) and will be releasing their first album from weather/p-vine(JPN).They will also be participating in the prestigious compilation series (BiP_HOp generation) by the french BiP_HOp label. フォニカはFilFla（フィルフラ）minamo（ミナモ）やfour color（フォーカラー）などで活躍する杉本佳一とPLOPの一連のアートワークを手がけるデザイナー、チーソンの２人組。また２人ともバンド RdL（リドル）の元メンバーで、weather コンピレーション（headz/p-vine）に参加している。更に杉本氏は自身でcubic musicを運営しており、ミナモとしても、ジム・オル ークバンド／渚にてのドラマーでもあるtim barnesのレーベルQuakebasketや,同じく米国のapestaartje(エイプスタージュ)、12Kからもリリースするなど、世界を舞台 に旺盛な活動をしている。現在、フォニカは惜しくも活動を停止してしまったが、今だに世界中から新作を熱望される程のインパクトを与えた。
