北海道の札幌を拠点に活動する６人編成プログレッシブ・メタルコアバンド。重厚な音圧で激しくもタイトでキレのあるギターサウンドにテクニカルなベースとドラムが特有のグルーヴを放つ。衝動のままに流れるように入れ変わる展開に要所で楽曲を覆うエレクトロニカシンセサウンドをフィーチャーし、心に響く魂のシャウトが独自の世界観を生み出した変幻自在な音楽をみせている。2012年4月アメリカ・シカゴ出身のVeil of Maya の JAPAN TOURのオープニングアクトに全国的にほとんど無名だったにもかかわらず抜擢、マイナーバンドとしては異例なステージにもかかわらず自らのパフォーマンスのみでオーディエンスやVEIL OF MAYAのメンバー当人をも驚愕させるインパクトを与えて全国デビュー。同時期にそのデモとしてリリースした新曲の「T.T」と「ZOMBIENATOR」がMySpaceのニューリリース・メタルチャートにて全世界１位と８位を獲得。その後、国内レーベル ALLIANCE TRAXから「Zombienator EP」 をリリース。同時期にTRIPLE VISION Entertainmentからのコンピレーション「Brat Pack 2012」にも楽曲提供。国内のバンドとしてはジェントムーヴメントの火付け役となる。さらに、2012年11月にはBetween The Buried And MeとAnimals As Leaders のJAPAN TOUR 2012の前座も全日程を務めあげた。2013年は地元北海道を中心にLIVE活動を行う。2014年2月には待望の初来日となるPeriphery(アメリカ)の単独公演をCyclamen(イギリス・アジア)と共にサポートアクト、UKハードコアのYour Demise最後の来日公演サポートアクト、国内プログレッシヴ・ミュージックイベントGIG GEEKSでbilo'u、Arise In Stability、Cyclamen、Kilieなどと共演。Hammerhead Shark (H2S) is one of the progressive metalcore bands based in Japan. This band is organized at Sapporo City, where is located on Japan’s northern biggest and coldest nature island called Hokkaido in 2006. We make the post metalcore music with synthesizer and electric sounds. H2S is organized by Naohisa Kawakami(gt/25), Yoshitake Shiono(vo/25), Teruo Nakamura(dr/25), Takuma Sasaki(synth/25), Toru Takahashi(ba/22), and Akito Hayasaka(gt/27).In 2012, they supported 'Veil of Maya JAPAN TOUR 2012' and 'Between The Buried And Me/Animals As Leaders JAPAN TOUR 2012' as a openning act on all of the dates. In Japan this term "Djent" was not known far and wide since VOM or AAL came to Japan. Fortunately Hammerhead Shark could also make a contribution to spread widely a genre of "Djent" first time ever at all of the Japan after this tour. And our song called T.T was climbed to the top of the new release (world-metal) chart of MySpace, also the song called ZOMBIENATOR was ranked-in the best eight on MySpace World Chart in a moment.
