TDFはフィンランド出身のゴシックメタルバンド。前身であるハードロックバンドのMary-Ann（１９９３年～）の音楽スタイル変更と共に、バンド名も変更、１９９９年に結成された。 その年の７月、自費製作のＥＰ版である"Deeper Sin"のレコーディング後に、Spinfalm Recordsと契約。年末にはデビューアルバム"All Eternity"をフィンランドでリリース、その後Nuclear Blast（ヨーロッパ向け）とPony Canyon（日本向け）と契約。 ２０００年にはDark Tranquillity, Sentenced and In Flamesとヨーロッパツアーを行う。２００１年のLacrimosaツアー前にはセカンドアルバム"Epilogue"をリリース。 ２００３年８月に"Jaded"発売後にVo／Jarno Perataloが脱退、ＴＤＦ前メンバーと共に新バンドTiagaを立ち上げるが、２００４年には再度ＴＤＦを名乗り、翌年２００５年には４thアルバム"IV"をリリース。 ２００６年１０月に５ｔｈアルバム"Wounds Wide Open"発売。２００９年４月、活動停止。 その後、活動を再開。2011年には6thアルバム"Samsara"を発表した。
