2001年、ニューヨーク州のバッファローで結成。当時のメンバーは16歳の少年ばかりだったが、メタルコアの隆盛に乗って知名度を上げ、翌年にはEP「Forever Scorned」を発表。Between the Buried and MeやAlexisonfireとツアーを行う。Warped Tourへの参加や、映画「バイオハザード3」「ジェニファーズ・ボディ」への楽曲の提供など、活躍の幅を広げていたが、2007年にはメインボーカルのニコラス・ブルックスが脱退。その後ジェイソン・ウッドを新たに加入させ活動を続けたが、2010年12月にはバンドは無期限の活動停止を発表する。しかし、2012年にニコラスは復帰し、ジェイソンとのツインボーカルを擁する編成となった。音源の発表が中々行われないが、そのことについてバンドメンバーは、「今の俺たちは、実家住まいだった頃とは違う。仕事もあるし新しい家族もある。真のファンなら理解して待っていてくれるはずだ」と弁解している。
