1976年、ドイツのハンブルクで結成。1980年代後半～1990年代前半あたりが全盛期と思われ最も商業的に活躍し、ハロウィンと双璧をなしていたと一部では言われていたが、音楽性、バンドのイメージはまるで違い、こちらは男臭さを前面に押し出したアクの強いバンドである。本国ドイツでは人気が高いバンドだが、日本では一部に熱狂的なマニアがいる程度である。バンドの来日は、1992年に、ロックン・ロルフと、当時のギタリストアクセル・モーガンが、プロモーションのために来日したのみで、日本でライブが行われたことはない。また、1990年代に東芝EMI・ビクターが日本盤を発売していたが、現在は日本のレーベルと契約がない。
